A very inspiring and informative trip to the Pickford’s House Museum. Members of local communities from Derby were invited on a trip to the museum to see their collections and also to view the Chai and the City Exhibition.
A guided tour was given by the staff at the Museum. It was an insight into the history of Georgian Life and Costumes in Derby and to learn about the architect Joseph Pickford, who built it as his family home in 1770. The members who joined us in the trip learned about the experience of domestic life in those times and how the Pickford family used each fascinating room.
A young Iranian lady with us was very keen to bring her husband to come and see it too.’The exhibition was very thought provoking and fits in very well with other collections in the museum’ was feedback received by one of the participant.
